A few hours after he fell asleep, Drakius finally woke up and looked around to find out that he wasn't where he fell asleep at all. He was in some type of garden propped up against a tree. There was a well in the middle of the garden with a pathway going straight in front of it with a swing by another tree as well as plenty of greenery surrounding him. He tried to get up but, was too exhausted from the running and the lack of food.
"Yep, kind of figured that I wouldn't be able to get up. I wonder how I got here though," Drakius thought to himself out loud.
"You apparently were so exhausted that when I picked you up and carried you here, you didn't feel it at all. You must've been pretty tired," a female voice responded.
"W-Who's there?" Drakius asked as he was frantically looking around, trying to find the source of the voice.
A Zoroark then came from behind the tree he was propped up against and introduced herself.
"My name's Shade," Shade replied.
"Why am I here? Were you sent to come and kill me?" Drakius asked, glaring at her.
"No. I can't blame you for thinking that after all of the hell you've been through Drakius," Shade answered back.
"How do you know my name?" Drakius inquired.
"Have I got a lot of explaining to do," Shade remarked.
Shade then proceeded to explain that she was sent by Latias to watch him and his parents to keep him safe and find an ideal time to quickly get in and get Drakius out of the situation he was in.
"So you were the one who managed to stop time for a second so I could change the direction of the bullet to the ground and get away?" Drakius asked her.
"Wait what?" Shade replied, confused.
"Right when my father shot the bullet, time seemed to stop and gave me a chance to send the bullet into the ground and get a head start on the run," Drakius explained.
"Wonder who did that?" Shade wondered to herself.
Drakius's stomach grumbled loudly.
"Hungry," Drakius groaned.
"I'll be right back. I'll go get you something to eat," Shade replied as she she started walking towards a archway with a tunnel behind it.
"O..kay," Drakius said back.
He then decided to try and get a little more sleep while waiting for Shade to get back with some food but couldn't get to sleep. He had to many questions in his head that he was trying to come up with answers for.
"Why would they go through the trouble of trying to save me? I'm no use to them at all unless they want someone to tend to the plants and all that or something. There has to be more of a reason. Her feeling sorry for me just doesn't seem like a good enough reason," Drakius said to himself.
After he said this, something came to his mind very suddenly.
"Wait............ How exactly am I able to understand what the hell they're saying?" Drakius asked himself, "I'm so confused."
"Why are you questioning everything? Can't you just be grateful that someone actually cared enough to save your ungrateful little ass?" A male voice suddenly asked.
"Latios! Cool it! Sorry about him. I don't know what's gotten into him lately. Anyway, how are you doing Drakius? You alright?" another female voice asked Drakius.
"Who's there?" Drakius asked nervously.
"It's only me, Latias." Latias answered back as she came from behind him.
"So, you're the one who sent Shade." Drakius stated.
"Yes, I am...." Latias replied.
"I'm starting to regret this." Latios interupted.
"Will you knock it off!?" Latias snapped, "He's been through hell and back while living with those jerks. Now is NOT the time to be an ass!"
"Fine." Latios answered back and walked away.
"I am so sorry for is disrespectful behavior. I have no idea what has gotten in to him." Latias apologized.
"It's fine. I probably deserve it anyways." Drakius replied.
"Why would you say that? What he said was totally uncalled for!" Latias exclaimed.
"I had to have done something wrong to deserve that and being born into the family that I did. No one gets tortured this horribly without a good reason." Drakius muttered back.
"Hey, I'm back. Couldn't get much more than a sandwich unfortunately." Shade said as she was giving a plastic wrapped sandwich to Drakius,
"Thanks." Drakius thanked her.
"I see you've met Latias already. Have you met Latios yet?" Shade asked.
"He has, Latios was being an ass for whatever reason. I have no idea what got into him." Latias angrily replied.
"So that's what that look on your face was all about." Shade replied.
"Can I ask something?" Drakius asked.
"Sure. Go right ahead." Shade replied.
"How exactly did you find out what was going on behind the scenes with my parents and I?" Drakius inquired.
Shade and Latias looked at each other and both sighed.
"How likely are you to fall asleep right now Drakius?" Shade asked.
"Fairly likely." Drakius replied.
"Then it might be best if you get some sleep and explain everything tomorrow." Latias suggested.
"Alright. Goodnight." Drakius replied.
"Shade, you mind staying by him to make sure he has someone near him in case any nightmares decide to appear?" Latias asked.
"Yeah, no problem." Shade replied.
After they were done talking, Shade went and lied down next to Drakius to help him feel a little safer at night.
A few hours later........
"Mmmm. That was the best sleep I've gotten in a while." Drakius said to himself as he got up and stretched.
"And it'll be the last one you get!" A mysterious voice exclaimed.
To be continued......
